On the places we come from

I hope you're finding moments to soak up the sunshine and savor the warmth of summer. I recently returned from a trip to Nebraska, where I spent time with family in Lincoln, where I grew up. It was a wonderful opportunity to rest, recharge, and relive childhood memories. On each visit, I like to stop by my old schools, house, and past jobs; this ritual gives me perspective and energizes me. I also indulged in simple summer pleasures—concerts in the park, picking cucumbers, antiquing for Depression-era glass, catching fish, corn shucking, enjoying DAYS of 4th of July fireworks, and a small town parade. It's the Midwest at its hot, muggy best.

While there, I thought a lot about how we are shaped by the places we come from.  In this work at Begin Development, I live out many of my youthful dreams: collaborating with people I admire, travel and adventure, and, most importantly, helping people in meaningful collaborations.  I love this work of supporting teams as we gear up for the fall and their end-of-year goals. I've also been thankful lately for the opportunities to share our voice in industry publications, build a network that inspires me, and continue to host open development sessions for anyone to join.  I plan to keep exploring ways to include more people in this work I believe in.

Discover your inspiration and moments of rest in these remaining summer weeks. There's important work ahead, our best efforts come when we are refreshed and our creativity is thriving.
