What we want to achieve, broad objectives, usually to be accomplished over the next 3-5 years. Think qualitative. Objectives should be consistent with the mission and vision of your organization.

Quantitative target of progress toward objectives. Usually includes 4-6 metrics, covering large, overriding considerations such as: share, volume, profit, engagement. Use the acronym SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) to guide you.
