THE BEGIN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER JOURNEY
Grow the people who grow your people
Your human talent is your company’s greatest asset. Developing your managers is an investment that returns big dividends because well-cultivated managers will grow and develop the people they lead.
a format that supports your organization’s goals
We’ll work with you to customize the format of your Manager Journey in a way that makes sense for your people, organization, and industry. A typical Manager journey contains most of the following elements.
one year, monthly sessions
The Manager Journey is a year-long experience, broken into monthly sessions, including additional work in between sessions.

virtual or in-person
Depending on your managers’ needs and working style, the sessions of the Manager Journey can be carried out virtually, in-person, or as a mix of the two.
cohort-style
Community is an essential aspect of growth that lasts, and at Begin Development, it’s our secret sauce. We recommend selecting a cohort of promising leadership talent to embark on the Manager Journey together.
and what about content?
We are skilled at partnering with HR to make sure these programs are growing high-level leadership development and practical day to day management.
kick-off session
The journey begins with a kick-off session to create a shared common language about best practices in managing and growing teams.
DiSC assessment and workshop
DiSC is a personality model that decodes four basic styles, D, I, S, and C, and the way they show up in various work situations. This self awareness results in better leaders.
communication and conflict sessions
The core of the program focuses on tools and practices to improve communication and interpersonal conflict skills. We believe these are the most essential skills for leaders to have in order to succeed.
hear from managers on the journey
“The breakout sessions were very valuable and it was great to connect with other managers and see how they deal with tough situations.”
“Overall, I thought this was a very helpful session. I really like learning from my colleagues who've been working through similar situations and brainstorming together.”
“I loved the second breakout session where we had to role play as a team. The group I was in was incredible (all women) and we found ways to help each other with also real life problems!”
